About

Ann Linforth – Stained Glass Artist

Ann’s passion for stained glass began in 1996 when she first met Master Craftsman Peter Philipus at the ‘Amsterdamse Glas in Lood Zetterij’ in Amsterdam. It was there that she followed a 4 year apprenticeship during which time she learnt all the facets of making stained glass.

Before moving to Amsterdam in 1986, Ann trained for three years at the prestigious College of Jewellery and Silversmithing in Birmingham, England, where she specialized in hand engraving, silversmithing and design. These early influences are now reflected in Ann’s latest work where she combines saw pierced metal discs with a variety of antique and pressed glass to create a tapestry of colour in her bespoke works of art.

“Colour has a magical quality that has the power to evoke emotions and ignite memories. Incorporating specific colours and symbols into my artwork creates a tapestry of life’s treasured moments. It also reflects a personal story that connects us with our memories and loved ones forever”.
